Kestrels beat Stockport Vikings Barbarians
Three second half goals saw Kestrels win a much closer game than the score suggested.
During an even first half, Kestrels played some lovely flowing football and covered excellently across the back to keep Vikings out – Ali’s thunderous close finish separating the teams.
Ali got his second after the restart, neatly diverting the ball in from a low corner.
Then, following a frank exchange of views with the ref, the Vikings coach was dismissed, which changed the complexion of the game but not the boys’ gameplan as they continued to attack freely.
For Kestrels’ third, Dan finished a typical Kestrels attack, cooly finishing a one-on-one inside the near post.
Man of the match Raquami got the fourth, wriggling through a group of defenders and tucking in low around the keeper.
An impressive and determined performance.
Lions beat hazel grove
Great win today for the lions. Quick passing and movment opened hazel grove up with ease. First ten minutes was cagey with both teams not creating to much in front of goal. Quick feet from Owen won a free kick on the halfway line. Who then got to his feet to cross a ball to dj who headed it back across the keeper into the far corner. Great goal to put us one up. Sam made one or two good saves to keep it at 1-0 till half time. We told the boys to start moving the ball quicker and that led to Rocco firing home the second from the edge of the box. There heads went instantly and the boys ran riot. Smashing in another 4 with out reply. Dj and Daniel grabbing 2 each. One of Daniels was a belting strike from the right wing across their keeper into the far top corner. They pulled one back but this made the lions go again scoring 3 more. Cayden and dj another 2. They scored with the last kick of the game to make it 9-2. Motm was between 3 players Daniel finlay and dj. Dj took the trophy home for his none stop running and his perfect hat-trick with his first three goals coming with his head, left foot then right foot. He also has listened more and his movement off the ball was a pleasure to see.
Well done boys again. Improving week after week.
Raiders beat Radcliffe Jaguars
Comfortable for Raiders this morning, a good team performance. Good use of the width in the first half, Izu,Tu’San and Harrison all a handful in wide positions, and it wasn’t long before a neat sequence worked across from the right found Izu in space to cooly slot home the opener. Further first half goals followed from the lively Kian and Ollie, before a Radcliffe wonder strike from distance looped in to keep things interesting at half time. Jaguars picked up a little second half, more physical, but with Tyler, Asa and Will almost impassable, Raiders never really under pressure, and always a threat on the break, eventually Tu’San adding a fourth and sealing the win. Motm to newcomer to the team, Sam, who produced a tidy performance both down the left side and a spell at the back. Well done Sam and well done Raiders
Pumas lost to Roach White
The fun starts here for Pumas. Three seasons of progression, the boys are now playing top division football, a result of their hard work and commitment. But as they found out today against last seasons cup winners, it’s tough at the top and the development and hard work must continue. Pumas certainly didn’t look out of place in this company, and Roach were worthy winners, but Pumas maintained discipline and work rate throughout, and two second half goals from Alex and James confirmed to the boys they can compete. This is the level the boys want to play at, and the learnings today invaluable. Pumas go again against Roach Whites in the Cup in a fortnigh – the boys are looking forward to that one already. Well done Pumas

Lions beat cwfc
First game back and what a  performance from all the boys today. Started the game with pace and power running at the other team from the off. 1 up after a few minutes as dj Jamie and Matthew pressed from the front. Matthew getting in on their keeper to tap home from 5 yards. We went again and again creating chance after chance their keeper making save after save. Then Rocco found space on the edge of the box and squeezed it through a small gap to find the bottom right hand corner for 2-0. Sam in net didn’t have much to do for the first 15 minutes as the boys were working so hard. Then the third came as Daniel played a pass back to Owen at left back who hit a shot that there keeper couldn’t hold and Jamie was on hand to tap home. They then got one back just before half-time to make it 3-1. Second half and we stared the same making chance after chance and missing one or two easy one’s. Their keeper and defenders were stopping every shot we had but we never stopped and dj got the goal he deserved as Matthew had a great shot that their keeper couldn’t hold and dj was on hand to dink it over him. They only had one or two chances second half and Sam was on to them in a flash. He made a save on the edge of his box and got up and ran at the next player and blocked the next shot with his knees as he slid at the player great double save as he didn’t have much else to do all half. Motm was an easy one. The whole team from the first whistle to the last. They didn’t stop once and everyone put a shift in.
Great performance boys well done.
Dynamos beat  Chadderton Dragons
WHAT A GAME!!!!!. Dynamos squad were 2 men down this morning due to illness but the five that were fit to play did not disappoint. The Dynamos started well with some txt book passing  exactly what we’ve practiced in training and as a result found ourselves 2-0 up with 2 great goals from Neeko. Chadderton continued to be a tough opposition and at the end of the second period it was neck and neck 2-2. Both teams playing really well and such a close Match. Chadderton making it 2-3 only for the Dynamos to equalise then again Chadderton made it 3-4 and yet again Dynamos dug deep find the equaliser now at 4-4. The third period and the Dynamos switched off and seemed to lose their concentration maybe  also tired not having any subs to give them a breather. Chadderton took advantage of this and scored twice in the third period. Going into the fourth and final period and the Dynamos were 4-6 down heads were down and all looked tired. Luca, solid at the back put in a good strong tackle moved the ball Forward with a perfect through ball to Michael who not only found the back of the net but nearly put the ball straight through it now at 5-6. The boys got their confidence back and heads were now held high. Again the attack started from Luca at the back feeding the ball through the Chadderton midfield to Elijah then a top pass finding Michael and Michael firing home the equaliser 6-6. Twenty seconds to go and it was end to end play, the ball found its way to Neeko on the left wing who cut inside the Chadderton defence to get it on his right foot and as the ref put the whistle to his lips Neeko hit the ball and it in it went for the 7-6 win. What a game, what a performance. One very proud coach. If I had 5 motm trophy’s they all would of got one. But motm went to Neeko for his outstanding finishing but more importantly if ever improving passing.
E&W Coolcats lost to Raiders
Back to full strength for first time since end October, and business as usual for Raiders. Asa and Tyler looking like they’ve never been apart at the back, and the rest of the boys eager to get going in the League after the Christmas break.  Plenty of first half possession but unable to find a finish, it was Coolcats who took the advantage into half time with a very nice solo run and finish. Raiders quickly out of the blocks for the second period and not long before Izu put through one on one with the keeper and a cool finish levelled things up. More nice work followed, this time Luca down the left squaring for Harrison to take the lead. Debate continues over motm Ethans 3rd, a top bins strike from a wide right position – was it a cross, was it a shot? Either way it flew in. And with the game won, Tu’San with another cool finish to continue his great form. Strong in all positions today against a physical Coolcats, great on the break, especially in the second half, and a well deserved win. Well done boys.
Littleborough Yellows lost to Pumas
Good opposition today, a good passing side with a very capable no.7 making things tough for Pumas, especially on the break. And it was this, and a lack of final third quality from Pumas, that saw Yellows take a two goal lead before Rasan finally managed to squeeze one in at the near post for 2-1 at half time. Second period continued in the same vein, Pumas looking the more likely to score but Yellows finding the net twice in quick succession and a 4-1 advantage. Dayne then began to take control of the no.7, and James in full flow closing out the pacey attacks. Alex and Rasan asserting more pressure on the Yellows back line, Isaac a real handful. The quality improved, balls through the channels and pressure mounting, more chances and with 10 to play, Alex sneaked one back.  Well deserved. Eesa on into the middle allowing Alex to press a little higher, and he popped up again 3-4. Tails up. Pumas in full flow. More pressure. A few more chances, was there going to be enough time? Clock ticking, Dayne blasted over from distance before Alex found himself with the ball at his feet in the box again to complete a tremendous 9 minute hat trick to level at 4 each…..and a well deserved draw for most. But not these boys, seconds left, high press from the kick off forced a corner. Whipped in by Rasan and met with a thumping header by Alex for his fourth in ten minutes and jubilation – a fantastic win for Pumas. Great stuff from all the boys today, and motm shared between Bobby for his brave and sharp goalkeeping and Alex for game changing performance.
Kestrels beat Droylsden Pumas (Cup Round 1)
Kestrels produced an outstanding second half come back to beat newly promoted Pumas in a game that had everything.
Dan opened the scoring after winning and then converting a cracking free kick 15 yards out.
Pumas soon found another gear, equalising minutes later.
Both teams were made to work hard at the back: Ali, Haris, Keane and Nathan put in characteristically gritty performances, with Callum behind.
Joe B hit the post and bar late on in the second half as some good Pumas defending denied Kestrels a half time lead.
Pumas came out fighting and took the lead ten minutes after the interval.
This seemed to boost the boys and led to the some of the game’s best football: Kestrels exerted more control in the middle and were more dangerous coming in from the wings.
Dan’s second followed a precise ball from the right which he headed in at the far post.
With the score level, Pumas looked to play for penalties as all the play was outside their box. They could do nothing, though, to prevent centre back Ali who, following a lose ball, thundered in the winner from close range.
Hawks lost to Juno FC
Great effort by all on a cold and windy early start in Oldham – first match back after long Christmas break
Started off strong against an attacking team
Good team work as the boys tried to thwart the relentless pushing up field by opponents
Disappointing result which didn’t truly reflect effort and capability of the Hawks
Lessons learnt for tactics against same side next week – opportunity to turn the tables
Man of the Match – Carter

Kestrels drew withUppermill Whites
A classic game of two halves ended in an entertaining and, at times, tense draw on a cold and damp Belle Vue morning.
Uppermill’s two goals came from goal mouth mix ups midway through the first half: the first from a low shot deflected past Callum and the second an own goal from a corner as the ball ricocheted its way in.
Kestrels had had the bulk of possession and could’ve been three or four ahead before falling behind, with chances falling to Alex, Raquami, Wilson and Keane playing as the lone striker.
The second half was all Kestrels. Other than a chance coming back off the post, which could’ve made it 3-0, the boys hammered the Uppermill goal.
Duke, full of energy, made some nice runs down the left, and Dominik was constantly available up top. Myles, playing in a range of positions, was kept busy at the centre of the action.
Haris and Nathan, steadfast as always at the back, showed positional discipline allowing the third defender to progress forward.
For Kestrels’ first, Joe B drilled in a low cross from the right, which found man of the match Raquami waiting at the far post to reduce the arrears.
Uppermill’s keeper then produced half a dozen great saves to keep them one ahead. He could do nothing, though, about Kestrels’ equaliser, a floated corner headed in at the near post by the ever dangerous Wilson.
At this point, Kestrels had all the momentum but just couldn’t break through Uppermill’s stubborn five man defence to produce a winner.
Lions beat droylsden
Good win for boys this afternoon in the rain. The passing and the movement in the first ten minutes was great to see and this put the game to bed as we went 4-0 up. They got a goal back with a good finish just before half time. Second half and we started same again. Pressing from the front winning the ball high up the pitch. We created chance after chance and scored another 4 but I do think we should of had a good few more. There keeper made 5 good saves and we wasted a couple of chances also. Motm was between Jamie and dj as I thought both boys did well with and without the ball today in bad conditions. Dj took the trophy home as he has been playing well for a good few weeks now. Well done all boys as it wasn’t the best conditions today and they all still played with a smile on there faces
Dynamos lost to pennine reds
A tough game this morning for the Dynamos against a good strong pennine side. Dynamos just did not have their passing game on today resulting in giving the ball away far to easily resulting in going down 0-2 after the first 10 minutes. The game continued and got more frustrating to watch as the Dynamos passing improved but at the wrong times and across the back, everytime pennine would intercept and punish us goal after goal. Final period and Dynamos 0-6 down and finally a glimpse of usual Dynamo class moving the ball well putting Michael on goal to pull one back, and again 2 minutes later. A frustrating game for players and spectators and a massive learning curve for the boys. Time for our Christmas break then back to it in the new year.
Raiders 0 Milnrow 4
Grotty conditions and a similar result. Raiders had the better of the early exchanges, motm Tyler welcomed back in the heart of defence after a few weeks out, and Izu a handful as usual down the left side, but the boys just not able find a finish despite creating a number of good chances. It was nothing more than a speculative hit from distance that looped in which gifted Milnrow the lead, and despite having the majority of the first half possession, the boys found themselves two down at the break. Second period was scrappy, Milnrow unnecessarily physical, and with the shooting boots nowhere in sight for Raiders, including a missed penalty halfway through the second half, it was clearly not going to be their day. Some great football from Raiders this term, with some cracking results – sure to be more to come when the squad is back to full strength in the New Year. Happy Christmas Raiders!
Pumas beat Radcliffe Bulls
Two strong in-form teams battled this one out in challenging conditions at St Marys this morning. Alex, at the heart of everything for Pumas, along with the Radcliffe no9 going toe to toe in the centre of midfield, and quality across the pitch ensuring defensive duties on both sides couldn’t be ignored.
Some super early passing sequences from Pumas found Alex in space for a signature strike and the early lead. Both teams playing strong attacking football meant some great defending on display. 3-1 at the interval after a further strikes from Alex and Dayne.

Littleborough yellows drew with Dynamos
A very close game against a very physical Littleborough team in very tough conditions. Two players missing from the squad this morning but that didn’t stop the Dynamos putting on a great performance. Perfect football in parts from the boys with quality passing and Michael soon put the boys 0-1 up. Littleborough staying strong on the attack soon made it 1-1 it was neck and neck with end to end action. Every time Dynamos seem to score Littleborough would get one back. Andother goal from
Michael And one from Neeko and the Dynamos were 2-3 up. Passing has improved so much with the Dynamos. 5 minutes to go and Littleborough managed to play through the Dynamos defence to make it 3-3. A great game To watch and a mention for Mustafa who had a great game
On the right wing and Ibrahim solid as always at the back. Motm went to Ethan for continuing to improve each week and stepped up to the mark to put a shift in in goal.
Tigers lost to Wardle.
Lions beat Denton
Made very hard work of a win this afternoon at Wright Robbie. First 10 minutes and we had two great chance with one on ones. Both straight at the keeper and could and should of made the day a lot easier for ourselves. We then went close again with Daniel hitting the post with a great driving run down the left from there corner. He rounded the keeper but went a little wide and couldn’t quite cut it back enough. Then the opening goal came with a good quick passing move found Matthew unmarked in the box who passed it home with easier and we was 1 up at the break. Second half and we started slow passing and not moving enough up top. They then got a corner that we didn’t clear properly and the left winger stood still for there right back to nipped in and squared for a player to tap home. We then changed the front three and it paid off. We started to move the ball quicker and getting more shots off. Then Mathew again found himself in space about 20 yards out and smashed it right in the top corner to put us back in front. The third goal was again a good team move from front to back with a good long pass from Harrison to Daniel who took it away from there defender and passed it wide right for Jamie who spotted there keeper of his line and curled it over his head from about 25 yards out.
On another day it would and should be double figures. We need to take our chances and make life easier for ourselves.

News and Results for Saturday 24th November.

Lions beat cwfc
Great win today for the boys. Started off on the front foot from the first whistle. Pressing from all over the field creating chance after chance. Rocco with the first with a neat finish after some good team play. Sam then made a great save 1 on 1 that sent the ball out for a throw in it was that good. We broke with pace and power with Mathew passing the ball passed there keeper for the second. Daniel then found the net with our third just before half-time. Second half and we started slow and was under pressure from our own play. Ten minutes passed and we started to play again making chance after chance. Great pressing from the front creating a good chance for dj who found the net with ease. Then goal of the game was next. Good ball retention at the back and in midfield with the boys playing pass and move. The ball then got played down the right and Jamie with tricky feet playing the ball from his right foot on to his left and back to the right in the blink of an eye had there left back beat all ends up. He then squared it to dj who passed the ball passed there keeper with ease. Dj then raced through on a one on one and with there keeper running at him he lifted the ball over his head from the edge of the box for the sixth. Really great finish and well deserved hatrick. Motm was hard one as dj played great from start to Finish. Hitting the woodwork twice and creating a few good chance for others as well as his hatrick but Sam beat him just. His save in the first half was one of his best I have seen him make. Off his line in a blink of an eye and pushing it away a good 20 yards. His talking and constant chatting with his back two is great to see and his distribution today turned defence into attack every time. Well done both boys
Avro Bomber lost to Dynamos
A good start to the game from the Dynamos with more good passing and an ability to read the game well passing and moving into space. Strong on the attack and it wasn’t long before Michael found the back of the net. The Dynamos piled on the pressure and after the first 10 minute period we found ourselves 5-0 up. Two from Michael, one from Neeko and two from Luca. Then second period and a few changes to the team and we seemed to totally switch off and gave Avro bombers so many chances on goal which only gave them more confidence. Slowly but surely Avro bombers got back into the game pulling it back to 5-5. We switched back to plan A and we got our passing game back and Luca finally found the back of the net to make it 5-6 and made it his hat trick. A good exciting game for the spectators and another win for the Dynamos
Pumas beat Milnrow Eagles
A good game against a decent Milnrow side. End to end action and shot after shot for both sides. Milnrow with a powerful shot and a good save by Bobby only for the ball to land right in the path of a Milnrow striker who made it 0-1. The pumas dug deep and powered on slowly wearing Milnrow Down with Alex controlling the game from the middle feeding the ball to rasan upfront and Dayne being a handful down the left wing. Persistence paid off and Alex made it 1-1. Then a good through ball from Alex to Harley and we were on for goal. Harley made an awesome strike only to be saved by a very good Milnrow keeper but he wasn’t able to stop Isaacs follow up to make it 2-1. Chance after chance for the pumas but they just couldn’t beat the Milnrow keeper. 15 minutes to go and Rasan put the game to bed with a long range shot and made it 3-1. A great performance from the pumas coming back from 0-1 down and another well deserved win for the Pumas.

Raiders lost to Chadderton Phoenix
Massive thanks to Mike Cookney and all the parents for keeping the boys playing this weekend with Raiders coaches away.
A cracking game, end to end action throughout and one where perhaps a draw would have been the fair result. Tu’San opened things up with a well worked goal, Harrison making it two, following up to smash home after Ethan’s strike was well saved. Phoenix responded well, finding the net twice to level by the break.  The second half provided more of the same, box to box action, chances at either end with goals from motm Harrison and Kian cancelled out at the other end by a relentless Phoenix, eventually taking the lead. Raiders had the better of the final exchanges but the clock ran down before the boys could find an equaliser. Boys and parents thoroughly  enjoyed the action, well done Raiders
