Kestrels beat GC Terriers.
First league game of at to 4 early in the second half. Bolton got 2 back but we secured the win with a fifth late on. A competitive game despite what the score line suggests. 2 goals from Raquami, 1 for Joe and 2 from MoTM Keane who was busy throughout – great pressing and played well in a range of positions. Really impressed with the adaptability of the squad with players taking up a range of roles confidently. Special mention to Dominik as well who had a solid game in goal. Game 1 done!
Hindsford Aces beat Hawks.
First game back since November with a tough tie against last seasons cup winners. The while team put on a solid performance first half, Nat unbeatable in mers and Jack’s cheeky lob from halfway nearly making the difference but coming back off the bar. Second half changes, and though the boys kept battling Hindsford managed to convert their chances. MotM Joe epitomising the spirit we want all the boys to play with, never giving up and tirelessly driving forward with every chance he got.
Cheetham Hill Yellow beat Raiders.
Well beaten by a very good U8’s Cheetham Hill side, as good as you’ll see. Only beaten twice in two seasons, and easy to see why. Raiders by no means rolled over, and in parts played some good ball, but the strength of Cheetham Hill kept Raiders chances to a minimum, and some of the technical ability going forward was at times dazzling. Raiders are a good side, today they had a lesson in what is required to play at the next level. Enjoyable to watch.
Pumas Beat Chadderton Sports Phoenix.
A comfortable Cup win for the Puma’s. Arian very commanding as usual in defence, Alex controlling the midfield and all the boys looking to get the ball down and play, meant some very nice passing football in phases. Two excellent finishes at the back stick by Dayne, both from corners, and a neat finish from debutant and man of the match Isaac, meant a well deserved half time lead. Alex added a fourth in the second half and Puma’s never really looked like conceding with Bobby as reliable as ever between the sticks.
