News and Results for Saturday 22nd April.

Lions – Bad day at the office for the lions this morning. Some good football at times but not playing as a team and trying  to do it all on there own. 2 nil up and let it slip in first game. 3 nil down after 2 minutes in second game and heads went with it. We need to learn that you can’t just turn up and win. I would say well done to eagley but we gave it them in the end. Motm Kayden great in net again with a great one on one save at 2-2.

Pumas – Pumas left there shooting boots at home this morning. The boys strong enough to win both games, hitting the post in both matches but never quite got the passing game going. You know it’s not your day when a second half penalty to win the game flies just wide! Bobby sensational between the posts and a worthy MotM.
Falcons – Lost to  Ladybridge Tigers.  Close for 2/3rds of the match until the defence decided to go wandering.
Raiders – Mixed results for the Raiders today. We started with a great team performance in the opening match against a strong Stingrays side. However, we didn’t get off to the best of starts in the second match which we didn’t manage to fight back from. MOTM went to Ashton for a terrific attitude and some excellent finishing.
Kestrels – Kestrels won against Horwich RMI Greens. A very convincing performance again from the Kestrels today. A rearranged fixture meant we had a change of venue and a late kick off. We took the lead very quick after kick off and managed to stay 3-4 goals ahead for the rest of the game. Superb play across the team – goals from Daniel, Harry, Keane and Joe. MOTM Harry,  great forward play and came very close to a hat trick, as well as great period in defence.  Excellent versatility from players across the team.
Wildcats – Not a great day for Wildcats. Played against Alty Griffins who had only lost 1league game all season. We didn’t manage to score but did concede double-digits worth. Positives to take was the interplay between Heather, Talia and Italia. Alice’s defending and positives with the ball when in possession and Sophia F’s brave keeping.
Opo MotM Sophia F.
Managers MotM Alice.
Hawks – Won against Bolton Nomas. Solid performance from the whole team, and real good teamwork which was great to see. A “hatrick plus one” from Nat who was also banging in tricky crosses, a volley from Leo for the Match of the Day highlights real but MotM to Zach, first half was unbeatable, clean sheet and a text book sweeper-keeper performance coming off his line he didn’t even let them get chance to shoot. Special mention to Josh’s new DeWalt shin pads, and the sad demise of his dad’s best knee pads.
Tigers – Lost to Brandlesholme Lions.  MOTM Elliott.
Panthers – Beat Aspull in the Cup. MOTM Matthew.
Sharks – Lost to Bolton United.
Saints – Won Cup final on a penalty shootout after game ended 2-2.
