Roach Orange drew with RAIDERS
Match report by Scott Brady
On a bitterly cold morning the Raiders turned up to play Roach in the early morning kick off. Both teams were impressive with the game being played in right manner. After a scramble in the box, the ball found its way to Ollie who slotted the ball away. The game continued at a fast pace and two quick goals from Roach turned the game. The boys got stuck in and Asa was starting to run the game from the back, with the tackles coming from Will and Kian. A good run from Ollie was ended with a foul, and from the free kick Asa drilled it home. Just before half time Roach took the lead again, things could have been worse but a fantastic double save from Luca kept the Raiders in touching distance.
In the second half Harrison started to use his power to cause lots of issues, but a very good Roach keeper kept everything out, this was replicated by Luca with save after save at the other end. With Tyler in control at the back and Izu causing problems down the left the Raiders tried to get the all important goal. With the clock running down Ollie flew past the Roach defence and this time the keeper could stop his cool calm finish. The game ended and the draw was a fair result.
Westbury sports club vipers lost to PUMAS
A first class performance from the pumas this morning against a very good westbury team. My partner in crime Mr Sanderson away with Work but the boys did not dissapoint. Fast tempo from the word go constantly pushing forward having westbury on the back foot. Chance after chance for the pumas all resulting from top class passing and build ups form the pumas. Pumas went 1-0 from a wonder goal form Frazer lobbing the keeper from 30 yards. Second half but the game far from over westbury continuing to fight back but they just couldn’t get on top of the pumas. Isaac made it 2-0 the Alex made it 3-0 with another outstanding strike. An all round top performance and a pleasure to watch. Motm went to Frazer for his shift down the right wing. A good strong performance, his ability to create chances and also his cracker of a goal.
Dynamos lost to  Milnrow Sharks
A great game to watch from start to finish and Dynamos very unlucky not to of got the win. The boys took to a new formation and tactics practiced in training and took to it really well. The new formation encouraged a lot more passing and the ball to be played forward and wide. The Dynamos were playing so well 2-1 up. One of the goals came from a great run up the right wing from Mustafa and a sweet low cross to Luca to finish in style. Dynamos luck took a turn as we conceded an own goal while Milnrow snatched a couple towards the end. A lot of positives to be taken from the game, some of the best football I’ve seen the Dynamos play so far. motm went to Luca for an all round solid performance , finding the back of the net with a quality finish and his awareness and quality passing creating a lot of chances.
Lions lost to springhead
First loss of the season and how we lost I still don’t know. First 15 minutes we played some of the best football I’ve seen this season. Going 1 up after a great team passing move with Rocco finding the corner of the net from the edge of the box. Then for some reason we all went to sleep for the rest of the half. Winger diving in, defender losing there man and keeper not pushing shots away from goal made it 1-1 at half time. Second half and started slow again with Sam making a great save 1 on 1. We found ourselves 2-1 down as we couldn’t clear our box from a corner. Then put them under pressure for 5 minutes and got the goal to make it 2-2. Rocco smashing home from 5 yards out at the second attempt. They then scored a good free kick from 20 yards with only 2 minutes to go. Game over as we couldn’t get another shot on goal. Hard defeat to take as I think they were a weaker team compared to ourselves and on another day I could see it being 5/6 nil if I’m honest. Just one of them days I think as they had 4 shots and we had 14. Motm Owen strong tackling and good passing and had the most shots with 5 and he’s the left back.
