News and results for Saturday 30th March.

Pumas drew with Chadderton Dragons
Good game, Pumas on top for the majority of the first half, Rasan and Alex a real handful on the break, supported with some good midfield work from Joseph and Fraser. Pumas worth the lead at halftime, a nicely worked worked goal and Alex on hand to slot home. A switch to 8 a side at half time threw the Pumas somewhat, not especially useful as we look to transition to 9’s format next season, and suited Dragons much better who started to gain more possession, the result two quick goals for Chadderton. Pumas never far away, kept creating plenty of chances, Isaac and Rasan both with clear chances to level, and it was the latter who jinxed into the box and drove home the equaliser with 10 to play. A good game, a little scrappy with Pumas impressing in the first half.

Tigers lost to Littleborough Juniors Yellows.

Lions beat 3D football
We knew this was going to be an eventful game as they played on the pitch next to us last week and we could hear how bad their attitude was. We started well keeping the ball and making them work hard just for a touch of the ball. We must of created 4 good chances in the first ten minutes but failed to find the back of the net with any. We then got caught on the break which we need to learn from because if it wasn’t for Sam rushing off his line and making them hit the post we would of found ourselves behind after all our hard work. Then came the break through. Magic feet from Jamie in midfield left three of there players stood still and he passed it home from the edge of the box with his left foot. This put us in the driving seat for the rest of the half. Another one of Finlays trade mark long throws and Jamie was on hand to head home from the same spot that he scored his first. Great glancing header into the keepers far corner. The third was a good team goal after some nice passing from DJ, Jamie and Rocco. Rocco crossed for Cayden to head home just before half time. Second half and the fun began. Their players shouting and trying to intimidate the ref and our boys. They got a goal back and this got there tails up. The Lions then started to play them at their own game giving back what they were giving out. The ref did well i thought keeping them all in check. DJ was taking stick off one boy for a good ten minutes on and off the ball. DJ then did what he does best and put the ball in the bottom corner after a neat one two with Cayden and celebrated in style with take the L Fortnite style to shut this kid up. Brought a smile to mine and Steve’s face. Then with the last kick of the game Jamie completed his perfect hat-trick after a quick corner from DJ found him unmarked in the box to pass it home with his right foot. On another day this would of been a cricket score but I was proud of the boys. I thought they did excellent against a team that wasn’t very nice.
Motm was between Jamie and Cayden. Cayden took the trophy home as it was his best performance a while.
