News and Results for Saturday 8th April.

Kestrels – A very convincing away win for the Kestrels at North Walkden – 8:45 kick off. Both opposition goals own goals! Outstanding play from MOTM Daniel who had numerous assists with his relentless running and trickery. Goals from all over the park – Haris, Joe, Keane, Dominik and Alex all on the scoresheet. Super keeping from Nathan and defensive work from Myles. A menacing performance from the Kestrels.

Lions – Two hard games today in the sun. Great play from all players and a mention for Kayden for keeping us in the first game when it was level so we could score a winner in the last 15 seconds.  Second game took the gas off  so it ended a close one. Motm rocco. Great first goal to bring us back level and great wing play on the left.

Hawks – Lost out in solid game against a well drilled Eagley team. Every player played well, MotM Nat with another complete performance; strength,  speed, skill, aggression, giving his all for the team.

Mixture of the two development teams won their tournament at Burden Park as well.   v Leigh,  v Middleton, v Bridgwater and then  v Middleton in the decider.  All played really well against bigger boys on most cases.

Pumas – Two very close games for Pumas this morning, unlucky not to come away with more. Some excellent counter-attacking football, and strong in defence. Well done Dayne for his wing play and finishing, and MotM to Joseph for an excellent midfield display – endless energy, breaking down numerous attacks. Special mention to new joiner, Ibrahim, who continues to improve and will be a great asset to Pumas with his pace and skill.

Tigers – Lost in the Cup against  Pennine White Juniors. With no subs and a hot morning the Tigers came up against a well organised strong opposition.  MOTM Elliott for a scorching first strike  of the season and excellent defensive display.

Wildcats – Won against Inter Cheadle. A fantastic game of football from the girls who kept there shape, kept their heads and came out as victors. Went in at half time 2-1 down after a great team effort and a goal by Talia. 2nd half was the best I have seen them play, a goal by Sophia Jeff Crilly to bring us level and an absolute wonder strike by Talia from a short corner that flew into the top left of the goal to take the lead. Nervous last 10mins that saw them throw everything at us( even had their keeper up for corners)  But great defending by Lilly and brave goalkeeping by Sophia put us across the line as winners.  I would of even paid to watch that game it was that end to end. MOtM to Talia. A brilliant team effort all round to earn this win.

Sapphires – U10’s Sapphires played up at USN Bolton today against a very good Oxford Grove u10’s. 4g surface, blistering on court temperatures and playing as a 5aside. Girls could not compete with the speed, skill and high tempo of the game. Still managed to score a couple courtesy of Issy and Gracie Red but shipped 4 times that amount to the opposition. Girls never gave up, and battled on right to the end. Lots of work to be done with this fledgling team but their passion and determination can not be faulted.

Knights  – through to Cup Final after 2-1 win at Moton jfc yesterday. Cup Final @ Hyde Utd. 23/04 13:30 k.o.

Panthers – Drew against Lancashire Academy.  MOTM Zak W.

Sharks – Won against Bromley Cross.
