Uppermill Whites 2 – 5 Kestrels

WINNERS – Daniel Hett Memorial Trophy (EMJFL Div 1)  Uppermill Whites 2 – 5 Kestrels  Joe B Ali x 2 Daniel Haris  A determined and resilient performance from the Kestrels today. Joe B gave the team an early lead, drilling the ball home after a well worked move down the left. Despite a really promising start we went into the break 2-1 down after a couple of concentration lapses during set pieces.  In the second half we grabbed a quick goal back and the lads soon settled. Callum and Haris combined to prevent another from Uppermill – Callum rushing off his line to put in a crucial block and with the ball creeping towards the goal Haris rushed in to clear off the line. Callum was injured in the clash and soon came off to be replaced by Myles.  Goals 3 and 4 followed and a strike from Ali from inside his own half put an end to any hopes of an Uppermill comeback (even throughout the 7 minutes of added time).

Walshaw Jaguars V Kestrels.

Winning against a well drilled Walshaw team on penalties.  A genuine game of two halves! With the Kestrels leading at halftime, all goals coming from Haris, brilliant build up play from the team, goal line clearances from Keane, tracking back from Daniel and some calm keeping from Nathan. It was exhibition stuff from the Kestrels.

The second half the Jaguars rallied and levelled the game up.  There were chances for both sides to grab the winner but both managed to hang on.  Myles performed brilliantly in the shoot out, saving two penalties.  The Kestrels just didn’t miss – Haris, Daniel and Harry cooly slotting home to give the Kestrels the victory.
