So the Emeralds 1st match ended in a defeat, would the 2nd go that way? From the get go the Emeralds asserted themselves as dominant and found themselves 1-0 up, after 3 minutes when Sophie scored. The 1st half the slowed down in pace and neither side really found themselves on top, it was end to end stuff. 4 minutes from the end of the 1st half and the opposition had equalized, 1-1. My ingenious coaching wanted the defenders to carry the ball out from the back, which Scarlett took a little too literally, ran the whole length of the pitch and scored. Not exactly what I had in mind but I’m not complaining. Unfortunately, the 2nd half didn’t start the best and the Emeralds were back at evens after 20 seconds. A persistent run from Sadie, where she managed to take the ball round the keeper and score a goal. Then Winton went up the other end and got a penalty which they converted and we were pegged back again. The 4th goal came for them which I’ve entirely forgot. Isabelle then at 4-3 down slotted an equalizer in to make it 4-4. After every girl had taken a penalty is what still at a stalemate, so we’ll leave it at that. Good match for the girls which definitely helped their development. Onward and upwards Emeralds.
