So with last week off, would that affect the girl’s momentum ahead of today’s game? With Sadie between the sticks, Amelia and Emily at the back, Scarlett, Lucy and Erin in the middle with Daisy up top, the girls started okay but simple errors meant we were down after 10 minutes. Not to be deterred the girls carried on and managed to get 1 back through Lucy after a great run and Sofia added another before the girls came in for half time. Down at half time the girls were doing well and needed to continue. After the break the girls started slow and Winton added another, but the girls came back stronger and Amelia thumped in a goal followed by Isabelle and it was all to play for in the last 10 minutes. Scarlett’s hatrick sealed the deal and tore their defence ragged. The full time whistle and the girls had finally won; Scarlett took girl of the game but Lucy’s midfield dominance and Hattie’s defensive composure shouldn’t go unnoticed and allowed us to get a good foothold in the game. Onwards and upwards Emeralds.
