Phoenix girls under-11s were on fire against Moorside in the searing heat at St Mary's Park.

Brooke was player of the game, due to never losing a challenge, but also because she got her head up and looked to pass.

Lois bagged four and was unlucky not to have a fifth after scoring straight from a corner, that the ref deemed went out before it came back in.

She was also claiming a goal from another deadly corner that a Moorside defender deflected into her own net. The dubious goals panel judged that to be an own goal...

Adalind continued a ridiculous run of scoring form with a brace and she was excellent throughout.

Noe capped a typically top performance with a well taken strike during one of countless good moves down the left. 

Mia was excellent in both midfield and defence and also had a fun stint in goal to give the sparsely-needed Isabella a run outfield, where she was unlucky not to score. 

Grace was calm under pressure, winning balls and playing some decisive passes. Her performances in the last few weeks have stepped up a notch. 

Blake was up and down the right wing and made two goals - one from a clever quick throw-in and another with a smart lay-off.

April poached a goal from another dangerous corner, and was always an outlet on the flanks.

Lola played in a couple of positions and made some timely interceptions and showed off her usual array of passes.

The girls deserve the accolades, after working very hard in extremely warm conditions.
